Dayton, OH Workshop answers questions on new driver license reinstatement program

“I know that Montgomery County has one of the highest rates in the state for people that have drivers licenses suspended, I think over 200,000,” said Bill Dudley, one of the organizers with Miami Valley Organizing Collaborative. “I think Ohio ranks second in the nation as far as how many people have had their licenses suspended.”

From January 31 – July 31, individuals who have had their drivers license suspended for a number of offenses could be eligible for a fee reduction or dismissal.

“People live in food deserts, and they need access to drive to get healthy food, need to drive to have access to healthcare, to get to their jobs, so while this fee program is new, we hope it can be expanded upon and last longer,” said Dudley.
