New York: Westchester asks to install up to 100 red light cameras throughout county

Westchester County lawmakers are asking permission from the state to install red-light cameras at up to 100 intersections throughout the county.

Officials aren’t saying yet where exactly the cameras will be, if they are approved.

Westchester lawmakers approved a “Home Rule” request 16-0 at a special meeting tonight formally asking New York state government to let the county install the cameras and to also create a traffic and parking violations agency.
