Watch your speed in downtown Medford, OR: limit reduced; cameras will enforce

If you live or travel through the downtown Medford area regularly, you may want to start getting used to a new pace as a speed limit reduction will soon be effective and enforced by camera.

Corry Crebbin, the city’s Public Works Director said the traffic changes underway on Central and Fourth are part of the city’s 50-year transportation plan. Changes include repaving the road and reducing the speed limit.

“The city has a transportation system plan, and it’s designated with certain characteristics whether they have parking or not, whether they have bike lanes or not, how many travel lanes they have etcetera,” Crebbin said. “We try to evolve the streets in the City of Medford to match the vision and the transportation system plan.”
