Washington State Motorcycle riders could get more profiling protection (HB 1152)

It’s been against the law for a long time for law enforcement officers to stop drivers based on the way they look or the vehicle they’re in.

However, some Washington legislators say the number of motorcycle riders who get ‘profiled’ is on the rise, and they want to give the people who are pulled over and end up in court some fuel for fighting back.

Washington House Bill 1152 restates the law against profiling, but also gives motorcycle riders some recourse if they’re the brunt of profiling by asking to recover damages and court costs, and seek injunctions against further violations.
