Vermont DMV boosting security features on driver’s licenses & state IDs

The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles is planning to will change how residents renew driver’s licenses and state identification cards. The DMV is re-designing the licenses and ID cards, and in July will cease printing them in offices while you wait. Instead, the agency licenses and cards will be printed at a high-security facility and delivered by in seven to 10 days. DMV officials say the re-designed licenses and cards will be more secure and do a better job of protecting Vermonters from fraud and identity theft.
