UK: How to spot new ‘yellow vulture’ speed camera that can even fine you for smoking

New speed cameras that can catch drivers using mobile phones or eating, drinking and smoking behind the wheel have landed on UK roads.

‘Yellow vulture’ cameras have new LED infrared equipment and in addition to speeding, can also catch drivers for other offences.

This includes not wearing a seatbelt, using a phone, eating, drinking or even smoking behind the wheel.

The new cameras are unlike the usual yellow box speed cameras that can be spotted in any town or city across the country.

This means that some drivers may not even know when they are passing one.

Devon Live reports that the cameras are placed facing oncoming traffic, while an accompanying LED box system is placed around 20 yards before them.
