The Ontario government is clearing the way for municipalities to install radar cameras on local roads

The new provisions of the Road Traffic Act, which came into force on Sunday, set several conditions for issuing a ticket.

The photos may include the time and data of the image, a description of the location where the image was taken, the speed rate, an indicator for identifying the affected vehicle and the speed limit indicated on the road where the photo was taken. The license plate number must be clearly visible in an enlargement of the picture. Each photo must be authenticated by a provincial criminal officer.
