SW Florida: Naples community provides input on proposed toll road from Polk to Collier

The Naples community had a chance Thursday to provide input on the project that could lead to a new toll road from Polk County south into Collier County.

Dozens of Southwest Florida residents gathered at a community open house Thursday night to speak with Florida Department of Transportation officials and provide suggestions for the project called M-CORES, or Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance.

The project has employed the minds of three separate task forces to research three regional corridors that could accommodate multiple modes of transportation and infrastructure. The proposed multi-use corridor from Collier to Polk is being studied by the Southwest-Central Florida Connector Task Force.
