Suzuki Kizashi recalled over fuel tank that may potentially crack

Suzuki doesn’t sell cars in the U.S. any longer, but the automaker issued a recall for one of the final vehicles sold on these shores. According to paperwork filed with the NHTSA in October but released by the government Monday, Suzuki will recall the Kizashi sedan over fuel tanks that may crack.

The potential crack in the fuel tank stems from a vent line restriction. Dust can enter the vent line that provides air for the carbon canister. Should dust enter the vent line, it can block airflow and create “excessive negative pressure,” Suzuki said in government filings. The negative pressure may then lead to the fuel tank crack.
