Speed Cameras Vulnerable to Vandalism Worldwide – But Studies Say They Save Lives (War on Cars Watch)

Speed cameras, next to a skunk moving into your basement, are probably the least welcome of any sight in a neighborhood depending on whom you ask.  They’ve long suffered being shot, spray-painted, wrapped in duct tape, set on fire and anything else you can think of to disable them. The most recent and consistent effort has been perpetrated by the “Yellow Vest” movement in France. Since Nov. 2018, authorities say, about 60 percent of the country’s speed cameras – around 3,200 – have been vandalized.
