Spartanburg, SC lawmakers asked to support red-light cameras to catch violators

A local activist has asked Spartanburg area lawmakers to help curb the number of deadly accidents caused by red light violators.

Jody Traywick of Converse Heights and Citizens for Safe Streets asked members of the Spartanburg County Legislative Delegation to support legalizing the use of red light cameras to catch violators.

In 2010, Gov. Mark Sanford signed into law a measure unanimously passed in the Legislature that bans the use of red light cameras and speed cameras in the state.
