South Dakota: Highway 100 interchange at Interstate 90 east of Sioux Falls up and running

After nearly three decades worth of planning and construction, Highway 100’s connection to a major South Dakota east-west thoroughfare is finally open.

The city of Sioux Falls announced Wednesday that the interchange at Highway 100, also referred to as Veterans Parkway, and Interstate 90 is open to traffic. All ramps are functional and traffic can access the interchange from the north, according to a post on the city’s Twitter page.

“We expect there will probably be some lane closures just to finish up some short-term, during-the-day lane closures, but for the most part, traffic is free flowing again on I-90,” said Travis Dressen, an engineer with the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
