San Diego approves $2.3M for bike network ‘missing link’ in Carmel Valley

San Diego approved $2.3 million on Tuesday to connect two bicycle paths near Carmel Valley, a project that would close a crucial missing link in the regional network of cycling paths that local governments are trying to create.

The state Department of Transportation will contribute another $1.5 million for the 1,100-foot connector, which will be built under Interstate 5 near state Route 56.
