Arkansas: Prosecutor says report clears Centerton of speed trap allegation

An investigative report by Arkansas State Police cleared the City of Centerton of an allegation it was running a speed trap, Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith told 40/29 News Thursday.

ASP submitted 600 pages of findings after an investigation into multiple allegations related to the Centerton Police Department.

Allegations of “potential financial misdeeds” by the police chief and “one or two other officers” were also part of the investigation. Findings related to those issues are being sent to a special prosecutor.

The findings related to the speed trap investigation were not.
