Parking Booking Intermediaries: The Industrious Underdog of Smart City Apps

St. Paul City Council members are quietly hashing out a pitch to voters: increase the city sales tax by 1 percent to generate some $37 million or so in new funds for road maintenance, affordable housing, public transit and all-day pre-kindergarten.

Council Member Rebecca Noecker, who is taking a leading role in the proposal, said a resolution in support of the 1 percent sales tax likely will be presented to the council on Feb. 5. The resolution is expected to request that the mayor’s office assign a state lobbyist to take up the issue at the Legislature.
