Outraged drivers criticize A.C. Expressway toll hikes in hearings held in spite of coronavirus (NMA mention)

Steve Carrellas, National Motorists Association state policy director, warned officials that pushing through toll increases could have political fallout.

“It seems the Authority caught the same virus that the NJ Turnpike Authority was infected with, that spawns public hearings on toll increases out of the blue with minimal notification and lack of timely and adequate information,” he said. “If the Authority doesn’t think the public doesn’t recognize something is going on, that is contrary to trust and transparency, then you deserve the political consequences that will come your way.”
