Opinion: Colorado voters said no to taxes, again, but there’s hope even in this defeat

One week before the 2018 election, Colorado voters were polled on their attitudes about state funding. Eighty-eight percent of voters did not want to see transportation funded at the expense of priorities like education, health care, and human services. Fifty-six percent of voters said it’s time to consider a fairer tax system, one that asks more of wealthier Coloradans in order to bring down rising costs in pressure points like child care, higher education, and health.
