Oak Brook village president remains frustrated about lack of response from IDOT on red-light cameras

Oak Brook Village President Gopal Lalmalani remains frustrated about a lack of response and action from the Illinois Department of Transportation, nearly 10 months after he sent a letter, asking that red-light cameras be removed from the intersection of Route 83 and 22nd Street because he believes there was corruption involved in granting a permit to install and operate the cameras.

“I’m very disappointed,” he said Saturday. “It’s disturbing that we cannot even get some type of response from IDOT, addressing our concerns about the corruption, but there’s nothing else I can do.”
