Minneapolis looks to reduce deadly, severe injuries on city streets (Vision Zero Watch)

The city of Minneapolis says one death on city streets is too many. That’s why an ambitious plan is underway to make the roads safer.

The plan is called the “Vision Zero” and the goal is to eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries on Minneapolis streets.

“We’re going to reduce the speed limits on city-owned streets in Minneapolis,” Vision Zero Coordinator Ethan Fawley said.

He says speed limits on city streets are currently 30 mph. By next spring, motorists can expect lower speed limits to be posted.
