Metro Public Works plan to lower speed limit from 30 to 25 mph in Nashville neighborhoods passes

A plan to reduce the speed limit in Nashville neighborhoods was passed on Monday by the Traffic and Parking Commission.

The Traffic and Parking Commission was the final hurdle after Metro Council gave its nod of approval to lower speed limits. The commission voted to approve Metro Nashville Public Works’ plan on Monday afternood.

The plan will apply to neighborhoods with speed limits at 30 mph , lowering them to 25. New speed limit signs are include in the budget and will cost $500,000.
