Mercedes-Benz Recall | Automated System Problem

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 6,200 S-Class sedans, coupes, and convertibles from the 2018 and 2019 model years because their automated steering functions, such as lane centering and lane keeping assist, may continue to work even when the driver’s hands are off the wheel for a prolonged period of time.

When it is working as intended, the system should sound a warning if it doesn’t detect the driver’s hands on the wheel. If the driver doesn’t respond to repeated warnings, the car will turn on its hazard lights and slowly come to a stop.
