INDOT to raise speed limits on parts of I-65, I-265 in southern Indiana

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to increase speed limits on I-65 and I-265 in Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana.

Currently, the speed limit drops from 70 miles per hour to 55 miles per hour at the Sellersburg Exit on I-65. The sudden decrease in speed has been a source of frustration for drivers for years.

“It really throws people off,” said Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel. “A lot of times you would stop people and they would say, ‘Hey I had my cruise on 70. I didn’t see the signs.'”
