Indiana Legislature deciding how to spend increased truck tolls

There could be a detour ahead for the governor’s plans to spend the latest chunk of change from the Indiana Toll Road. In exchange for permission to hike truck tolls by 35 percent, the state will receive $1 billion over the next three years. With the governor’s desire to spend $90 million dollars on hiking and biking trails and $100 million to expand broadband, the legislature is poised to weigh in. “The money is supposed to be used for transportation,” Sen.
