I-84/9W (New York’s Newburgh-Becon) bridge project completed early and under budget

The two-year rehabilitation of the Interstate 84 bridge over Route 9W is complete and motorists will have a breather before the next project begins nearby — the redecking of the north span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.

The $14.7 million project actually cost about $725,000 less when all was said and done, an achievement that the New York State Bridge Authority attributed to the aggressive schedule it pursued in cooperation with its contractor, A. Servidone Inc. of Castleton.
