Howland, OH to end speed camera program

According to figures previously provided by the township, Howland brought in $665,026 in ticket revenue between March 2018 and February 2019. The township received an average of $1,934 per month in police officer overtime reimbursement from Blue Line Solutions, township administrator Darlene St. George said in May.

Roberts said even though the number of traffic crashes in the township has dropped 16 percent since the cameras have been in use, the township would be $400,000 “in the hole” between the loss of the local government funds and the $22 per ticket in court costs that would be paid to Warren Municipal Court to handle the court hearings.
