North Carolina I-40 Challenge: Highway Patrol to conduct traffic enforcement campaign beginning Wednesday

Drivers who will be on the road this week for Thanksgiving travel should know the N.C. Highway Patrol will be on the highways, as well.

As part of a safe driving campaign, the Highway Patrol will participate in the Thanksgiving I-40 Challenge, an operation with seven other states to patrol the Interstate 40 corridor, the agency said.

The Interstate 40 corridor will be monitored by law enforcement, including the N.C. Highway Patrol, from Wednesday through Sunday, which are the busiest travel days of the holiday. Troopers will be stationed every 20 miles, the Highway Patrol said.
