California: Headlights to be required in daytime on deadly stretch of Highway 70 between Oroville and Marysville

Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol announced Wednesday that headlights will be required during daylight on the 22-mile stretch of Highway 70 between Ophir Road in Oroville and Marysville.

The new safety measure will be implemented when good weather allows the ground to dry for installation of the signs.

Caltrans said that between 16,000-19,000 vehicles use the Highway 70 corridor during a 24-hour period.
