Better check your speed when traveling on Hagers Crossing Drive.
Between Atlanta Court and the traffic circle at Bartow Drive, the speed limit has been lowered from 30 to 25 miles per hour, according to a news release from the city of Hagerstown.
“With the recent addition of Jonathan Hager Elementary in that area — and in keeping with traffic safety policies throughout the city within school zones—the speed limit has been adjusted accordingly,” the release says.
A speed camera has been operating on that stretch of road since March 2017, but the camera will not result in tickets for the first 15 days as drivers adjust to the lower limit.
“The city asks that drivers use that grace period to adapt to slowing down and exercising the same care and caution they have demonstrated in Hagerstown’s other school zones,” the release said.
