Florida Lawmakers tout repeal of contentious state toll road plan (SB100)

Jenne, D-Dania Beach, told reporters that a bill (SB 100) to repeal the road program dubbed the Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance, or M-CORES — pushed through in 2019 by then-Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton — would protect sensitive environmental lands and lower costs for taxpayers.

“To see that get peeled back by about 85 percent, that was a huge win for us,” Jenne said. “It’s something that we’ve been saying since the day that language was introduced, that this was going to be an economic boondoggle and it was going to have serious environmental ramifications.”
