Federal appeals court upholds dismissal of Indiana truck toll lawsuit

A federal appeals court upheld a lower court’s decision dismissing the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association’s lawsuit against the Indiana Toll Road. On March 9, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed an Indiana federal district court’s ruling dismissing OOIDA’s lawsuit against the Indiana Toll Road. OOIDA contended the tolls were discriminatory against truckers, in violation of the Commerce Clause and the Privileges and Immunities Clause of the United States Constitution.
