FCA Recalls 660,000 Ram HD Pickups for Possible Steering Loss

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 660,000 Ram heavy-duty pickup trucks because steering linkage may separate over time, resulting in a loss of steering ability.

The automaker reported eight crashes and one injury potentially related to the condition.

Most 2013-2017 Ram 3500 HD pickups and chassis cabs and 2014-2017 Ram 2500 HD pickups are included in the recall. FCA reported the recall to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

An estimated 573,876 of the affected trucks were sold in the U.S. An additional 22,498 trucks were sold in Canada, Mexico and other markets.

FCA said it would notify customers when repair parts are available. Vehicle identification numbers of affected vehicles are searchable online at recalls.mopar.com and NHTSA.gov. The NHTSA number for the recall is 19V-021.
