Worldwide death toll connected to exploding Takata air bag inflators now at 24

A June 2018 fatal Arizona crash is now being linked to the worldwide Takata air bag inflator debacle, which has now resulted in 24 deaths and more than 200 injuries.

The Associated Press reports that Armando V. Ortega of Yuma, Arizona died in June 2018 three days after his 2002 Honda Civic was involved in a crash. The 55-year-old man was hit by exploding shrapnel from the air bag during the incident.
