CalTrans may reinstate some Hwy 99 funds in Fresno

For several years, Valley officials have taken “Voice of the Valley” trips to Washington, D.C. to collectively lobby for federal funding. It’s difficult to know if Capitol Hill ever hears their voices, but they can certainly be heard in Sacramento, especially when it comes to Highway 99.

“You not only listened to us, but you heard us. We are a united people from the Grapevine to Madera,” Assemblyman Jim Patterson (R-Fresno) said. “This is important to us. All of us know when three lanes north and three lanes south, people are safer on 99. We are asking for full restoration of this project.”
