Bronx, NYC: ‘It’s going to be a disaster:’ Morris Park fights against ‘Road Diet’ safety plan

Morris Park Avenue, the heart of the East Bronx neighborhood, has an issue with the city that has residents up in arms.

The “Road Diet” safety plan cuts Morris Park Avenue from four lanes to two, and would make parking on the busy street even more difficult, according to residents.

Al D’Angelo is well known around the neighborhood with his roles as the head of the Morris Park Community Association and chairman of Community Board 11.

“All our homeowners are against it, the BID is against it, our community board is against it and the city’s going to do it anyway” says D’Angelo.
