Beatrice, Nebraska: Police department introducing electronic ticketing equipment

Driver’s unlucky enough to find themselves pulled over by Beatrice police officers may find traffic stops more efficient thanks to new technology the department is implementing.

The Beatrice Police Department received a $28,400 grant from the Nebraska Crime Commission that will cover nearly the entire cost to add e-ticket equipment to patrol vehicles, covering nearly the entire cost.

City Administrator Tobias Tempelmeyer said the equipment will allow officers to scan a violator’s license information, rather than writing tickets by hand.
