Baltimore adding 45 new traffic cameras costing more than $11 million

The plan will include the installation of 25 cameras for speed violations and 20 cameras to capture red-light violations. Of the red-light cameras, 10 will be permanently installed at certain intersections, 10 will be “portable.”

The plan was approved without discussion.

Baltimore City currently operates 275 traffic cameras – 135 speed cameras and 140 red light cameras. The addition of 45 cameras would bring the total number of traffic cameras to 320.
