GPS and cameras will be installed on two Allentown School District buses as part of a pilot program, the district said in a news release Friday.
The district partnered with BusPatrol America LLC, which will install stop arm enforcement technology on two buses in the First Student fleet. The pilot began on Oct. 15.
The equipment installed by BusPatrol will include GPS, exterior cameras, an onboard computer, and a digital video recording system. The technology is intended to record any motor vehicles illegally passing a school bus.
