$1.8B, nine-bridge improvement project completed thanks to California’s SB-1

Thanks to funds provided by SB-1, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) reports that it completed a $1.8 billion project that improved nine bridges in five Sacramento Valley counties. The project included a coating on the concrete bridge decks to protect the road surface and extend the life of the pavement.

“This proactive maintenance work preserves these bridges for years to come,” said Caltrans Director Laurie Berman, in a press release. “SB 1 has made it possible for us to save taxpayers millions of dollars in costly future road repairs.”
