The James C. Walker Motorist Grant Program, formerly the Community Support Program, is designed to encourage more people to get involved in grassroots projects designed to benefit motorists at the local and state levels. Applicants must either be supporting NMA members or have donated at least $20 to the NMA or NMA Foundation during the grant application year.

Jim Walker, who passed away in 2019, was one of the motoring public’s foremost advocates, epitomizing how effective grassroots efforts could be in producing necessary protections and reforms. We could think of no greater distinction than to name the NMA grant program in his honor.
