For anyone who says you can pull over anytime you want, I give you Wisconsin:
It’s simply not a safe device.
Good work! A month and a half to go. I know for me, I was counting down the days, but it’ll be a good day when it happens!
No need to quit drinking altogether, but you need to be smart about it! Purchase a good breathalyzer to make sure you’re ok if you have doubts. Drinking the night before I went to work was no big deal, but I knew I could only have a couple.
I think IID porn is pretty common, actually! My device uses the blow, then suck back method. In the first week or two when I was getting used to it, I had lots of “blow harder” or “blow softer” messages. But my favorite was the most common error I had, when it would tell me to “suck longer”. That is the only redeeming thing about the device, the comedy it provided with it’s dirty, dirty talk.
I agree with Tommy…I have a different brand than you two, but have not had the experiences others have related with false readings. Reason being, I have been extremely careful and smart with it. I have never eaten or drank anything in the car, except water. Never used mouthwash, or any of the other things people mentioned that cause them issues. Read through the forums and see what people say has caused false fails, and simply avoid that. Just use common sense and you’ll be fine. I’ve had mine for a year and am due to get it off on Monday(!), it could be a lot worse than the six month term you have.
I am in Wisconsin, and have the Draeger interlock. Didn’t do any research, that just happened to be the brand the company that was first on the list that I called had. I have had no issues like others have listed here. I never eat or drink in the car (other than water) so as not to tempt fate, but have had no false positives or anything like that. It uses the blow then suck back system, rather than humming, which I think is easier and less annoying. Best of luck to you.
