Long story, but my simple question is this….. after an arraignment and before going to a “pre-trial hearing,” is it my legal right to have the case heard in the county seat or is it the discretion of the court? This is in Ohio, by the way.

Thank you for your question and thank you for wanting to fight your ticket.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a very good answer. The way each locality handles traffic tickets is unique and judges sometimes can determine where the ticket will be heard next. I would recommend contacting the traffic court clerk and ask him or her this same question. They aren’t always friendly but it is well worth the call since they have been hired to serve the public.

    Good luck with your ticket!
