Judge Adds $2 Million Fine To Corrupt Camera Executive Sentence
The former head of US operations for Redflex Traffic Systems will spend an extra year in jail and pay a $2 million fine for red-light camera bribery in Chicago, Illinois. On Thursday, US District Judge Virginia M. Kendall more than doubled the fourteen month sentence another federal judge had given to Karen Finley last month for bribing politicians in Ohio.

Feds Intervene In Virginia Drivers License Lawsuit
A lawsuit seeking to overturn Virginia’s policy of automatically suspending driver’s licenses over unpaid speeding tickets received a massive boost on Monday. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) formally intervened in the case, declaring that the official position of the federal government is that Virginia must change its ways.

Georgia Court Bans Police Driveway Snooping
If a police officer wants to snoop through the window of a vehicle lawfully parked in a private driveway, he needs probable cause to obtain a warrant. That was the conclusion of the Georgia Court of Appeals last week in considering the case of Treland Denard Jones, Ladairius M. Vickers, Takhiyra Dashun Turner and Deonte Lovell Sims, who were arrested for possessing a small amount of marijuana on December 4, 2014.

France: Spraypaint Disables Three Speed Cameras
In Bagnols-sur-Ceze, France, vigilantes last week disabled a mobile speed that had been positioned on the RN580. According to Midi Libre, black spraypaint was used to cover the lens of the unit, marked with the letters GAGGGC. On Thursday, bright blue paint entirely covered the speed camera in Noailles, Le Parisien reported. Additional remarks were added to the side of the device in neon yellow paint. In Saint-Hostien, the automated ticketing machine was disabled on Saturday by smearing white paint across its lens, according to La Commere 43.
