Louisiana Supreme Court Rejects Traffic Camera Challenge
The Louisiana Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a challenge to the photo ticketing program in New Orleans. Because city officials re-wrote their ordinance and offered $28 million in ticket refunds, the high court majority felt that justice had already been served.

Tasered Motorist Sues Ohio Town
Motorist Lamar Wright wants compensation from the city of Euclid, Ohio after he was ripped out of his automobile and tasered after he had pulled into a driveway to use his cell phone. In a lawsuit filed last week, Wright says he was maliciously charged with resisting arrest, obstructing officers and trespassing. All the charges were ultimately dropped because, he says, he did nothing wrong.

Ohio Speed Trap Town Busted By State Auditor
The Ohio State Auditor on Tuesday took the village of Brice to task for the slapdash accounting practices of its photo enforcement program. The notorious speed trap town generated so many complaints that the state House in June unanimously passed a bill to crack down on tiny villages that set up radar traps, but the state Senate blocked the measure.

Pennsylvania Cops Settle After Sober Man Jailed For DUI
A New York motorist imprisoned after being falsely accused of driving under the influence (DUI) settled his case against the Pennsylvania State Police. Wilfredo Ramos Jr spent 158 days behind bars despite repeatedly testing free from drugs or alcohol.

France, Italy: Speed Cameras Knocked Over, Painted
In Carate Brianza, Italy, vigilantes knocked over the speed camera on the SP6 Via Trento e Trieste on Saturday, according to Giornale di Monza. In Saint-Juan, France, the speed camera on the RD492 had its lenses painted red on Tuesday, L’Est Republicain reported. In Montilly-sur-Noireau, the speed camera was covered with a thick coat of gray paint last week, according to L’Orne Combattante.
