HB 120 was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 3, 2019 and has been referred to the Judiciary Committee. The bill is not yet scheduled for a hearing or a vote.
The bill would establish required policies and procedures regarding the use of police-worn body cameras before law enforcement could use such devices. Many of the requirements address due process protections for civilians, including such as recorded data collection and retention policies.
