New Jersey A3082 – Establishes pilot program for automated speed enforcement in work zones
Establishes pilot program for automated speed enforcement in work zonesFull Bill Text
A3082 is assigned to the Assembly Transportation Committee. It is not currently scheduled for a hearing or a vote. It would establish a five-year pilot program for automated speed cameras to be used in active work zones.
The NMA is opposed to the use of speed cameras. Proper advance warning to motorists of a work zone ahead and smooth transitioning of lanes through the construction zone is safer than after-the-fact enforcement by revenue-driven ticket cameras.
