SF 185 was introduced to the Senate on January 17, 2019 and was referred to the Transportation, Finance and Policy Committee. The bill is not currently scheduled for a hearing or vote.
SF 185 amends a current statute that limits the maximum posted speed limit on a county road or county state-aid highway to 55 mph. The bill would permit, upon request of a county board, the commissioner to establish a speed limit in excess of 55 mph on the basis of a duly completed engineering and traffic investigation.
