Illinois House Bill 3015 is under consideration in the House Rules Committee. The measure would repeal the use of red-light cameras throughout the state as well limit the ability of municipalities to operate speed cameras.

The NMA supports this bill since photo enforcement is more about generating revenue than improving public safety. It also raises serious due process issues for motorists who receive tickets. More on these issues can be found here and here.
