Virginia: Albo Fees Petition

Virginia legislators have passed a new fee scheme to pad the state's pockets with money from responsible motorists.

These Albo fees, named for their chief sponsor in the House of Delegates, have nothing to do with safety. They're all about making money.

Ohio: Abolish Mayoral Courts - HB154

The state legislature is finally addressing one of the worst elements of the Ohio court system, Mayoral courts. These courts operate primarily to generate revenue for the city or village. They are key components of any major speed trap enterprise operating in the state. House Bill 154 would eliminate Mayoral courts, if passed into law.

Indiana: $1000 Speeding Tickets

The following article describes an incredibly harsh out-of-control law just signed by your governor. As we have noted before, about one out of nine work zone accidents actually involve a highway worker and a large portion of those are related to the work, not passing motorists. This appears to be nothing more than a thinly disguised effort to milk motorists with huge fines that will be funneled to INDOT. You should ask your legislator if he or she voted for this monstrosity. If they did you know who NOT to vote for in the next election.
